IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our IHBC NewsBlog<\/em> posts regularly review the diverse career opportunities in heritage, conservation and related areas as posted on the IHBC Jobs etc<\/em><\/a> service.  This round continues to demonstrate the variety of roles that employers are looking to us to for help to fill, and the many ways we try to help conservation skills and outcomes.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We have had busy time this round, but we continue our particular focus on charity jobs, a user group to which we offer our most generous subsidies, from c.25%, and that\u2019s only to start!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018As regular users know, career opportunities on IHBC<\/em> Jobs<\/em> etc.<\/em><\/a> typically range widely across sectors, skills, employers, locations and roles.  But all reflect a common objective and strategy: in order to secure the person they need, employers target IHBC members, their skills and our wide-ranging networks.  That reflects the role the IHBC\u2019s model of conservation skills and competence \u2013 our Conservation Cycle \u2013 plays in assessing the competences, and the potential, of candidates.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018And as current round of posts marks an uptick in opportunities for our IHBC member networks, I am delighted to highlight again our direct financial support for conservation posts on our service.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charity employers in this round that could access the 25% advertising fee subsidies include are offering a huge variety of conservation-linked roles include The National Trust for Scotland, for a Building Conservation Surveyor\/Architect and Conservation Maintenance Surveyor, the Canal & River Trust for a Heritage Advisor and the Leicester Heritage Buildings Trust\u2019s call for a Project Lead Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church bodies advertising directly with us also can access these same reductions, and those qualifying this round include the Diocese of London\u2019s \u2018Tender Opportunity \u2013 Project Development Manager\u2019, St Albans Cathedral\u2019s Sustainability Projects Officer, and The Diocese of Sheffield\u2019s Church Buildings Officers (two posts).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IHBC\u2019s subsidised support for conservation doesn\u2019t end with charities.  Subject to relevant job titles and job descriptions, it includes the public and private sectors.  So we also offer subsidies of up to 10% for \u2018jobs specifying conservation and heritage accreditations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the right specifications, from the public sector the following could save costs with a 10% fee reduction due title roles in \u2018Conservation\u2019: Derbyshire\u2019s Conservation Officer, Swindon\u2019s \u2018Design & Conservation Officer and \u2018Senior Design & Conservation Officer, Fareham\u2019s Conservation Planner and Kirklees Council\u2019s call for a Senior Conservation Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly too, the private sector posts from ARUP, the Assistant Conservation Architect, and Jonathan Rhind Architects, for \u2018Conservation Architect \/ Architectural Assistant\u2019 also could see the 10% reduction for the same lead title responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the right conservation roles, accreditation and skills specified too, jobs with a more general heritage focus can qualify for some reductions.  So Marrons call for a \u2018Principal Heritage Planner \/ Associate Director\u2019, Berrys, for a \u2018Senior\/Heritage Consultant\u2019 and RPS, for a \u2018Senior Director\/Director \u2013 Built Heritage\u2019, all also may secure some such reductions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course where employers are members of IHBC\u2019s HESPR<\/a> scheme, they also get one Jobs etc<\/em> post free each year (transferable too!), so why not check out which if the above are HESPR members, and look at the scheme to see if it suits you too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This round of posts offers sound evidence on how our service \u2013 and the subsidies it offers \u2013 helps make a real impact on conservation-related matters, regardless of sector, disciple or level. And despite the lower numbers of opportunities than past rounds, all these postings confirm just how cost-effective the IHBC\u2019s Jobs etc<\/em> service actually is for anyone smart enough to take advantage.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
