IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our IHBC NewsBlog<\/em> posts regularly review the diverse career opportunities in heritage, conservation and related areas as posted on the IHBC Jobs etc<\/em><\/a> service.  This round continues to demonstrate the variety of roles that employers are looking to us to for help to fill.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We have had an especially busy time this round, but we continue our particular focus on charity jobs, a user group to which we offer targeted subsidies, from c.25%, and that\u2019s only to start!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018As regular users know, career opportunities on IHBC<\/em> Jobs<\/em> etc.<\/em><\/a> typically range widely across sectors, skills, employers, locations and roles.  But all reflect a common objective and strategy: in order to secure the person they need, employers target IHBC members, their skills and our wide-ranging networks.  That reflects the role the IHBC\u2019s model of conservation skills and competence \u2013 our Conservation Cycle \u2013 plays in assessing the competences, and the potential, of candidates.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018And as current round of posts marks an uptick in opportunities for our IHBC member networks, I am delighted to highlight again our direct financial support for conservation posts on our service.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employers in this round that could access the 25% advertising fee subsidies include are offering a huge variety of conservation-linked roles include Stirling City Heritage Trust\u2019s call for a Trust Manager, and linked to that, its hosted service, The Traditional Buildings Health Check, which seeks a Building Professional or Tradesperson for the role of Traditional Buildings Inspector \/Trainee Inspector.  From the last round we also have such noteworthy posts as English Heritage\u2019s  Conservation Trustee, The Landmark Trust\u2019s Senior Projects Surveyor\/Architect (North) and the Churches Conservation Trust\u2019s call for an Estate Officer, South East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church bodies advertising directly with us also can access these reductions, so Gloucester Diocese\u2019s Church Buildings Officer and Assistant DAC Secretary, and both The Diocese of Sheffield\u2019s call for an Assistant DAC Officer and St George the Martyr\u2019s call for a Client Project Manager could also qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IHBC\u2019s subsidised support for conservation doesn\u2019t end with charities, nor even with the public or private sectors, as we also offer subsidies of up to 10% for \u2018jobs specifying conservation and heritage accreditations\u2019. With the right specifications, these below could include a 10% fee reduction: Kirklees Council\u2019s call for a Senior Conservation Officer, South Downs National Park post of Conservation Officer, Waverley\u2019s Senior Conservation Officer and Stroud\u2019s Specialist Conservation Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the right conservation roles and skills specified too, these below could qualify for the reduction: Broadland DC & South Norfolk\u2019s Heritage Officer; Leeds City Council\u2019s Senior Heritage Officer, Winchester\u2019s Historic Environment Officer, London Brent\u2019s  Principal Heritage Officer, Monmouthshire\u2019s Principal Heritage Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly both Historic England\u2019s Inspector of Historic Buildings and Areas post and the Historic Estate Conservation Committee (4 posts), The Royal Household\u2019s Senior Building Surveyor, as well as Hackney Council\u2019s Hackney Design Review call, could all \u2013 specified accordingly \u2013 secure discounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A broad spread of disciplines and roles is clearly evident across the above posts, and continue into the private sector posts where again, subject to job descriptions, reductions may be secured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include RPS\u2019s Senior Director\/Director \u2013 Built Heritage and Cotswold Archaeology\u2019s Principal\/Senior Heritage Consultant, as well as James Mackintosh Architects\u2019 call for a Senior architectural technician; PURCELL\u2019s Senior Heritage Consultant, and from the last round, Iceni\u2019s Consultant\/Senior Consultant, Built Heritage and Townscape, and Graduate Consultant, Built Heritage and Townscape, the Pegasus Group\u2019s Heritage Consultant and Heritage Consultant (Archaeology) as well as HCUK Group\u2019s Heritage Consultant \u2013 Associate Director  and Mott MacDonald: Built Heritage Consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course where employers are members of IHBC\u2019s HESPR<\/a> scheme, they also get one Jobs etc<\/em> post free each year (transferable too!), so why not check out which if the above are HESPR members, and look at the scheme to see if it suits you too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This round of posts offers sound evidence on how our service \u2013 and the subsidies it offers \u2013 helps make a real impact on conservation-related matters, regardless of sector, disciple or level. And despite the lower numbers of opportunities than past rounds, all these postings confirm just how cost-effective the IHBC\u2019s Jobs etc<\/em> service actually is for anyone smart enough to take advantage.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
