IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our IHBC NewsBlog<\/em> posts regularly review the diverse career opportunities in heritage, conservation and related areas as posted on the IHBC Jobs etc<\/em><\/a> service.  This round continues to demonstrate the variety of roles that employers are looking to us to for help to fill.  And this round again too, we have a special focus on charity jobs, a user group that we offer targeted subsidies, from c.25%, and that\u2019s only to start!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Career opportunities on IHBC<\/em> Jobs<\/em> etc.<\/em><\/a> typically range widely across sectors, skills, employers, locations and roles.  But all reflect a common objective and strategy: in order to secure the person they need they target IHBC members, their skills and our wide-ranging networks.  That all reflects the role the IHBC\u2019s Conservation Cycle model of skills and competence can play in assessing the competences, and the potential, of candidates.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018And as current round of posts marks an uptick in opportunities for our IHBC member networks, I am delighted to highlight again our direct financial support for conservation posts.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Service users in this round that could access the 25% advertising fee subsidies include The Landmark Trust, which seeks a Senior Projects Surveyor\/Architect (North); Churches Conservation Trust, calling for an Estate Officer, South East, The C20, which seeks a Head of Casework, as well as, from the last round, Flint House Police Rehabilitation in their search for a Head of Estates and Gardens and English Heritage who looking for a Conservation Trustee (a voluntary role).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church bodies advertising directly with us also can access these reductions, so The Church of England: Closed Church Buildings Case Officer post also could secure that reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IHBC\u2019s subsidised support for conservation doesn\u2019t end with charities, nor even with the public or private sectors, as we also offer subsidies of up to 10% for \u2018jobs specifying conservation and heritage accreditations\u2019. Subject to that, such subsidies are available to both of those sectors as well, and with the right specifications, all of these could include a 10% fee reduction: Cotswold\u2019s Assistant Conservation and Design Officer and Landscape Officer posts; Kirklees Senior Conservation Officer and Stroud\u2019s Specialist Conservation Officer as well as Somerset\u2019s Conservation Officer.  Possible too would be Monmouthshire\u2019s call for a Principal Heritage Officer and Newport\u2019s call for the same role title, Principal Heritage Officer, as well as Amber Valley\u2019s post for a Heritage Officer, though with less specific conservation roles these could be less likely to qualify for the reduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A broad spread of disciplines and roles is clearly evident across the above posts, and continue into the private sector posts where again, subject to job descriptions, reductions may be secured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include Avalon\u2019s Associate\/Director (Heritage), Iceni\u2019s Consultant\/Senior Consultant, Built Heritage and Townscape, and Graduate Consultant, Built Heritage and Townscape, as well as, from the Pegasus Group, their calls for a Heritage Consultant and Heritage Consultant (Archaeology).  Calls from HCUK Group for a Heritage Consultant \u2013 Associate Director and Mott MacDonald, for a Built Heritage Consultant also could secure such reductions subject to job descriptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This round of posts offers sound evidence on how our service \u2013 and the subsidies it offers \u2013 helps make a real impact on conservation-related matters, regardless of sector, disciple or level. And despite the lower numbers of opportunities than past rounds, all these postings confirm just how cost-effective the IHBC\u2019s Jobs etc<\/em> service actually is for anyone smart enough to take advantage.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
