\u2026In this February issue, we would like to highlight several IHBC events taking place across the UK in the coming months, offering members and non-members alike an opportunity to join in person or online for learning and networking on a whole host of topics relevant across the wider heritage sector.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We kick off in February the Yorkshire Branch, who will be joined by IHBC CPD lead speaker Charles Mynors, to provide a review of historic building legislation, in York. This is followed by the South Branch Connection Day and AGM in Hampshire on the 28th.  <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As we head into March, there will be an online Supporter to Affiliate Surgery on the 11th for anyone wishing to advance from Supporter status to Affiliate membership. Following this, the South West Branch are hosting an event on Placemaking and Context in Redruth, Cornwall, led by IHBC CPD lead Dave Chetwyn. This event is available in person and online and marks the launch of this year\u2019s IHBC Annual School pre-conference CPD series.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Then, on March 24, we have a hybrid IHBC Council meeting from The Charterhouse in London, to include exclusive and free historic estate management CPD. All members are invited to join, either in person as an invited guest – for example serving as a Branch-nominated Representative on Council – or online.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the Wales Branch are hosting an in-person event on Curtilage, in central Cardiff, on the 4th April, to include lunch and networking.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, on the 7th April, the IHBC are collaborating with the STBA to host a webinar on \u2018Natural Materials in Retrofit: Building Standards, Regulations and Compliance for Traditional Buildings\u2019, with expert speakers Prof. John Edwards, Anthony Gwynne and Ruth Marie Mackrodt. This event is also part of the IHBC Annual School pre-conference CPD series.<\/p>\n

And last, but by no means least, don\u2019t forget to mark your diaries with the dates for this year\u2019s IHBC Annual School<\/strong> which will be taking place in Shrewsbury, between 12th and 14th June, on the theme of \u2018Heritage in Context: Value, Plan, Change\u2019. Join us as we explore the rich and complex theme of context and how it shapes the way in which we understand, value and protect the historic environment, and how we successfully manage and plan for sustainable and well-informed change, now and long into the future.<\/p>\n
