As procedures for the officers of the IHBC\u2019s Council evolve, the IHBC seeks up to four suitably qualified nominees to serve as co-Vice President(s), to be appointed at Council\u2019s FIRST blended meeting on 24 March 2025 (or after), with \u2018Statements\u2019 due by Monday 24 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The appointment of the President and Vice President(s) rests with the IHBC\u2019s new Council, our inclusive advisory and training body as established under our new Articles<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: \u2018I\u2019m delighted that we now have the next stage of arrangements for Council under way for the coming meeting, a hybrid event on 24 March 2025. This event, to be broadcast from London\u2019s Charterhouse, will see the appointment of the IHBC\u2019s new President \u2013 Rebecca Thompson \u2013 as well as one or more nominated Vice Presidents, to serve respectively as Chair and Vice Chair(s) of the Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018We\u2019ll also have the chance to thank Mike Brown, as retiring President, who will take on the role of Immediate Past President, and others. As ever too, we\u2019ll have more great Council CPD in offer \u2013 exclusively for IHBC members \u2013 this time on the care of historic estates and property, centred on the Charterhouse itself.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rebecca Thompson<\/a> said: ‘I’m really looking forward to taking up my post as IHBC President on 24 March at the London Charterhouse.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘It’s also our Council’s first ever blended meeting and, among other matters, will explore the management of heritage estates as well as thank our outgoing President Mike Brown. So I’m especially keen to encourage our Branch Committees to plan early for attendance by their Council representatives or alternates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018The National Office will soon be sending details to Branch Committees on arrangements for in-person attendance, and to all our members on booking in to the online programme, so please do keep an eye out, and mark your diaries accordingly!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The IHBC is still refining terms and procedures for Council, so we can best support its uniquely inclusive role in our governance. \u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018In advancing the ongoing modernisation and governance we are calling for up to four Vice Presidents \u2013 to start at this or later meetings \u2013 and take on roles as summarised below.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
