Historic England is seeking ten listed buildings (LBs) to take part in research demonstrating how well EPCs accurately reflect the energy efficiency potential for traditionally-constructed historic buildings, contribute to a report presenting evidence-based recommendations for improvement of EPCs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

HE writes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[HE is] looking for demonstrator cases to provide an evidence-base to enable the critical appraisal of data gathered and advice presented in Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for traditional buildings, against their in-situ Measured Energy Performance (MEP.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are looking for 10 demonstrator cases with a good geographical spread that meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– be a building within England<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– be a Designated Heritage Asset (Grade I, II* or II)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– be fully or partially of one of the following traditional construction types: Solid stone or earth (mass solid walling), solid Brick (thin solid walling), historic timber frame, or early cavity wall<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– be in residential use – owner-occupied, in the private rental sector (PRS) or as holiday let<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– have available access to live smart-meter data or at least 1 year of actual energy consumption data<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– have ability and agreement to carry out in-situ Measured Energy Performance and an occupant \/ user evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– have available access to energy assessment, as Energy Report or Logged EPC, with provision of in-put data agreed by the Energy Assessor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demonstrator cases to be submitted for consideration by Friday 6th December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
