issue of its <em>Research for Practice Digest<\/em>.\u00a0 For this issue we feature Professor Oriel Prizeman of the Welsh School of Architecture, who leads the MSc in Sustainable Building Conservation, a fully recognised IHBC course, and Dr Nicola Emmerson, Reader in Conservation, Director of Postgraduate Research in Archaeology at Cardiff University.<\/p>\n<p>Oriel is co-lead on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/news\/view\/2866927-protecting-our-built-heritage-and-collections#:~:text=The%20projects%20will%20unlock%20the%20potential%20of%20existing\">PERFFORM project<\/a>, which is an exciting collaboration in generating new conservation resources between the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/architecture\/research\/centres\/the-centre-for-sustainable-building-conservation\">Centre for Sustainable Building Conservation in the Welsh school of Architecture<\/a>and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/history-archaeology-religion\/people\/academic-staff\/archaeology-and-conservation\">Conservation team in Archaeology at Cardiff<\/a>.\u00a0 The project, led by Dr Nicola Emmerson, uses the latest scientific techniques to understand how environmental factors can impact historic buildings and collections, offering guidance for their preservation. <\/p>\n<p>Funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council\u2019s (AHRC) Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritagescienceforum.org.uk\/what-we-do\/riches\">RICHeS<\/a>) programme, it enables Cardiff University\u2019s PERFFORM facility to house state-of-the-art equipment, which allows users to examine historic buildings and the environmental conditions within them.\u00a0 They will be able to model the environment\u2019s impact on structures and artefacts, to ensure they last for generations to come, as well as to consider the suitability of energy efficiency measures.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome links to heritage research that we might include in our next edition.\u00a0 We\u2019re
