{"id":40114,"date":"2024-06-08T16:50:01","date_gmt":"2024-06-08T15:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=40114"},"modified":"2024-06-08T16:50:01","modified_gmt":"2024-06-08T15:50:01","slug":"rics-finalises-appointments-to-its-standards-and-regulation-board-srb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=40114","title":{"rendered":"RICS finalises appointments to its Standards and Regulation Board (SRB)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-23129\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/RICS_logo.png\" alt=\"logo\" width=\"208\" height=\"72\" \/>The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has announced the appointment of members to its permanent Standards and Regulation Board (SRB), as nearly 300 candidates applied for the five RICS member and five independent members roles on the Board.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 ensure independent regulation is fit for purpose and can meet the needs of the future\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>RICS writes:<\/p>\n<p>Following a careful and rigorous process led by Nigel Clarke (independent Chair of SRB), together with the support and expertise of Cindy Butts (independent recruitment specialist) and Clare Johnson MBE, FRICS (Deputy Head of Profession at the Valuation Office Agency) as the Appointment Panel, the final appointed individuals will help us build on our existing strong foundations and ensure independent regulation is fit for purpose and can meet the needs of the future.<\/p>\n<p>These appointments follow recent appointments to the Professional Standards Steering Group and the pilot Consumer Working Group. With these groups reporting to the SRB, it is important to recognise that the diversity, breadth and depth of intellect, expertise and experience available to the Board is impressive. This collective experience positively informs and drives our regulatory agenda in the public interest, instilling confidence in the credibility of what and how we regulate.<\/p>\n<p>The new SRB members are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keith Thomas FRICS<\/li>\n<li>Olga Turner Baker MRICS<\/li>\n<li>Sara Ensor MRICS<\/li>\n<li>David Fogarty FRICS<\/li>\n<li>Andrew Reynolds FRICS<\/li>\n<li>Yo-Hann Tan<\/li>\n<li>Lynne Livesey<\/li>\n<li>Sukhvinder Kaur-Stubbs<\/li>\n<li>Neil Stevenson<\/li>\n<li>Jonathan Lurie<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new SRB members commenced their appointments on 13 May 2024, with an in-depth induction held on 22 and 23 May. Nigel Clarke, Chair of RICS&#8217; Standards and Regulation Board (SRB), said: \u2018I am confident our new SRB will help inform and drive forward confidence in the quality of RICS\u2019 regulation and strengthen trust in the profession. This is a busy time for RICS and the built environment, and the SRB is undertaking critical work on professional standards and regulation for our global profession.
