It complements more detailed guidance below.\u00a0 This is centred on a mapping of the Day School presentations to the IHBC\u2019s interdisciplinary conservation practice and learning model, both specific skills sets\u2013 our Competences &#8211; and generic areas of conservation practice \u2013 our Areas of Competence \u2013 all as described in detail <a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IHBC-Competences-v181023-Final.pdf\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In reality the headings for each Competence and Area of Competence are largely intuitive, so it is not difficult to understand them in the context of the table below.<\/p>\n<p>You can use the same terms to analyse the supporting CPD across the other days of the School itself as well as the supporting events, including the tours and networking on offer to Full School delegates, and linked CPD events as described below.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the more familiar CPD forms, linked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/cpd\/index.html\">HERE<\/a>, for ease of tracking and analysing your own CPD needs and attainments, you can try the IHBC\u2019s new excel-based <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/resources\/CPD-Spreadsheet-Excel.xlsx\">CPD DOWNLOAD FORM<\/a>.\u00a0 Here progress is automatically tracked and charted for your convenience as described <a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/\">HERE<\/a>\u2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INDICTATIVE CPD ANALYSIS: Day School<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Linked School CPD 1: Full School Tours and networking events (Reception &amp; Annual Dinner)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Full School Tours, on <a href=\"https:\/\/reading2024.ihbc.org.uk\/thurs\/\">Thursday 13 June<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/reading2024.ihbc.org.uk\/sat\/\">Saturday 15 June<\/a>, offer unique and one-off insights and context to the wider School themes.\u00a0 As they are live case-studies they also extend the focus of the School\u2019s main themes.\u00a0 So for those investing time and money in the Full School experience, tours are a central part of any IHBC School\u2019s CPD.<\/p>\n<p>As delegates will decide what their learning priorities are, and the success with which the tours address them, we don\u2019t map these to specific Competences or Areas of Competence: we leave that to you!\u00a0 In general, they will at the very least touch on all.<\/p>\n<p>And please don\u2019t forget that the live and interpersonal experience at School events is the most sophisticated learning you can achieve.\u00a0 This includes our Thursday Reception and Friday Annual Dinner, as they offer both networking and social opportunities, all critical not only for building your networks and more, but for more informal explorations of the School and wider professional experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Linked School CPD 2: Pre-conference CPD Webinar Series<br \/>\n<\/strong>To get the most out of the School, we are offering a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/events.ihbc.org.uk\/?tribe_events=reading-2024-annual-school-pre-conference-cpd-webinar-series-free-to-attend-and-open-to-all\">free pre-conference webinars<\/a> leading up to the School, extending the exploration of School topics.
