What did people do before we started burning fossil fuels? This knowledge changes everything. History and science \u2013 physics, biology \u2013 both point to a revolutionary approach to understanding of the problem, that shows us how to make effective, inexpensive and low-risk transformation, at the speed we need to tackle the climate emergency.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The IHBC writes to IHBC members:<\/p>\n<p>We are writing to you to officially notify you of the date for our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/aboutmain\/governance\/index.html\">2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM)<\/a>. This will take place online, &#8216;virtually&#8217;, on Tuesday 30 April 2024 starting at 5.30pm with a talk from <a href=\"http:\/\/linkedin.com\/in\/robyn-pender-76348a14\">Dr Robyn Pender<\/a> entitled <em>&#8216;Taming the elephant in the room: &#8216;Why exactly are we using so much energy in buildings in the first place&#8217;<\/em><em>?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In line with our new <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/business\/docs\/MASTER%20Articles%20of%20Association%20adopted%20at%20GM%20on%2026%20March%202021.pdf\">Articles<\/a>, business will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The consideration of the accounts, balance sheets, reports of the Board (including the annual report) and auditors;<\/li>\n<li>The retirement, appointment or re-appointment of Directors, our Trustees;<\/li>\n<li>The appointment of the auditors;<\/li>\n<li>Elections to the Board, as discussed below and;<\/li>\n<li>Resolutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the AGM is a critical moment in our cycle of governance, all categories of member are strongly encouraged to attend and CPD certificates will be issued.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The IHBC\u2019s Annual General Meeting is open exclusively to IHBC members<\/li>\n<li>IHBC members of ALL categories are encouraged to attend.<\/li>\n<li>Voting at the Annual General Meeting is open ONLY to Full, Associate and Retired IHBC members.
