<span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">Photo by Avel Chuklanov on Unsplash<\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 near-zero emissions and climate resilient buildings the new normal by 2030\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Michael Netter, the IHBC\u2019s Professional Services Officer and Director of the Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance (STBA), said \u2018The Forum is being hosted by UNEP, the Government of France, and the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (<a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/partnerships\/global-alliance-buildings-and-construction-globalabc\">GlobalABC<\/a>), and is intended to further develop the goals and content of the new Buildings Breakthrough.\u00a0 This initiative aims to accelerate the transformation of the sector with a view to making near-zero emissions and climate resilient buildings the new normal by 2030.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018These programmes send messages that IHBC and our wider sector networks in the UK have been promulgating for some time, so it is really exciting to see them being considered and discussed at the UN development level.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There is also an open call for existing initiatives \/ commitments to celebrate and showcase at the forum, so if you\u2019d like to contribute please contact Michael Netter at <a href=\"mailto:services@ihbc.org.uk\">services@ihbc.org.uk<\/a>.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The workshop ahead of the forum aimed to help refine the key messages surrounding CHN\u2019s twin goals of switching the view of heritage as a climate action \u2018victim\u2019 towards a \u2018solution\u2019 and to link up the now siloed building stream and culture stream within UN climate action planning.<\/p>\n<p>See more on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/news-and-stories\/press-release\/buildings-breakthrough-global-push-near-zero-emission-and-resilient\">Buildings Breakthrough<\/a> forum, the Climate Heritage Network (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.climateheritage.org\/\">CHN<\/a>) , and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/events\/conference\/buildings-and-climate-global-forum\">Buildings and Climate Global Forum<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/\">UNEP<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Climate Heritage Network (CHN), of which the IHBC is an active member, is co-leading a \u2018Buildings Breakthrough\u2019 forum that is part of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Buildings and Climate Global Forum, which will take place in Paris &hellip;
