A stunning pre-World War 2 water tank will be given a new lease of life as a luxury home – after proposals to develop it were approved by South Ayrshire Council planners.<\/p>\n

Plans were drawn up to convert the two-storey Catcraig Water Tank, on the outskirts of Dundonald, and make it fit for 21st century living.<\/p>\n

Behind the ambitious plans were Ayr firm LMA Architects, who said the water tank, which is almost the same size as a football pitch, boasted “unique architectural character” which makes the structure “a building of particular merit” and “worthy of being protected.”<\/p>\n
