The Daily Post w<\/em>rites:<\/p>\n

\u2026\u00a0 Parts of Denbighshire, Flintshire, and Wrexham council’s as well as Powys would be in the park. The Welsh Government has said that national parks are important for the environment, help tackle the nature emergency and achieve more sustainable tourism. An \u201cengagement\u201d exercise took place in October and November which included public meetings held in in Llanfyllin, Ruthin and Llangollen and a number of online sessions.<\/p>\n

The process is currently in the \u201cgathering evidence\u201d stage. In 2024 it is expected that the proposals and boundary would be firmed up ahead of possible implementation by 2026.<\/p>\n

\u2026\u00a0 last week Plaid Cymru councillors put forward a motion to oppose\u2026. Plaid Cymru group leader, Cllr Elwyn Vaughan believes that creating another authority would put further pressure on dwindling public finances.<\/p>\n
