{"id":38477,"date":"2023-12-08T17:16:50","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T17:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=38477"},"modified":"2023-12-08T17:16:50","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T17:16:50","slug":"hse-publishes-annual-work-related-ill-health-and-injury-statistics-for-2022-23-and-reports-55-increase-in-construction-fatalities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=38477","title":{"rendered":"HSE publishes annual work-related ill health and injury statistics for 2022\/23 and reports 55% increase in construction fatalities"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-33954\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/HSE_020822.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"95\" \/>The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published annual work-related ill health and injury statistics for 2022\/23, and reports 55% increase in construction fatalities, and nearly 2M workers reported suffering from work-related ill health.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 estimated 35.2 million working days were lost in 2022\/23\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>HSE writes:<\/p>\n<p>The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has today (Wednesday 22 November) published its annual statistics on work-related ill health and workplace injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The statistics reveal that 1.8 million workers reported they were suffering from work-related ill health in 2022\/23, with approximately half of the cases down to stress, depression or anxiety.<\/p>\n<p>In the recent years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rate of self-reported work-related ill health had been broadly flat, but the current rate is higher than 2018\/19.<\/p>\n<p>There were an estimated 875,000 cases of work-related stress, depression or anxiety in 2022\/23.
