{"id":38419,"date":"2023-12-01T16:58:18","date_gmt":"2023-12-01T16:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=38419"},"modified":"2023-12-01T16:58:18","modified_gmt":"2023-12-01T16:58:18","slug":"ihbc-features-heritage-from-the-doorstep-wyke-regis-man-sentenced-over-non-compliance-with-planning-enforcement-notice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=38419","title":{"rendered":"IHBC features \u2018Heritage from the doorstep\u2019: Wyke Regis man sentenced over non-compliance with planning enforcement notice"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Dorset Council secured a successful prosecution in court recently, as a Weymouth resident was sentenced for failing to comply with a Planning Enforcement Notice for using agricultural land for leisure purposes without planning permission, reports <em>The Dorset Eye.<\/em><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 successful prosecution should come as a warning\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p><em>The Dorset Eye<\/em> writes:<\/p>\n<p>Aytach Hasan, 73, of Wyke Regis, owns part of the land located on the northwest side of Pirates Lane&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026.Mr. Hasan himself was found to be using the land for leisure and recreational purposes and for storing non-agricultural items and equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The whole site lies within the West Dorset Heritage Coast, which was established to conserve, protect, and enhance the natural beauty of the coastline.<\/p>\n<p>The Council attempted to inform and educate the plot holders regarding the lawful and unlawful uses&#8230; Unfortunately, as a significant amount of unauthorised development continued on this protected site\u2026the Council served enforcement Notices\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday 31 October, at Weymouth Magistrates Court, Mr. Hasan pleaded guilty to failing to comply with an enforcement notice\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2026.all contrary to section 179 (2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Hasan was fined\u2026.The grand total being \u00a34,109.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr David Walsh, Dorset Council\u2019s Portfolio Holder for Planning, said:<br \/>\n\u201cThis successful prosecution should come as a warning to anyone who thinks they can ignore Planning Enforcement Notices without consequence.
