Responding to the consultation IHBC makes the observation to the suggestion of templates to enable local planning authorities to prepare local plans \u2018Local planning should be based on locally developed policies not centrally imposed development management policies\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2026 the local planning system should not \u2018be centralised\u2026\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n

The IHBC writes:<\/p>\n

\u2026\u00a0 the local planning system should not \u2018be centralised <\/em>and it essential for it to \u2026.. recognise and respond to local circumstances\u2026\u2026..The local dimension in planning is especially important in underperforming areas.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

The Consultations Panel<\/h2>\n

The IHBC constantly monitors Government Departments and other national and regional organisations for relevant proposed changes to legislation, policy and guidance. The Consultations Panel formulates responses to these documents on behalf of the IHBC.<\/p>\n
