Tony Burton, Director of England\u2019s Civic Voice, is to join the Design Council, as Director of Policy and Communications, helping it establish itself as a charity independent of Government.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tony writes:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u2018This is to let you know that I\u2019ll shortly be leaving Civic Voice to take up a new role at the Design Council. I\u2019m pleased to say that Civic Voice will be recruiting for a new Director and details of this will be available from the website later this week on www.civicvoice.org.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019m excited to be joining the Design Council as it establishes itself as a charity independent of Government and will be working across the full range of its interests from innovation and growth to public service reform and the built environment; with business, the public sector, professions and communities.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n My main responsibilities as Director of Policy and Communications will be for policy & external affairs; research & insight; marketing & brand and media & digital. Ian Harvey continues as Civic Voice\u2019s Co-ordinator and can be contacted on ian.harvey@civicvoice.org.uk.\u2019<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n It has been an invigorating three years working with the civic movement and founding Civic Voice. The energy and commitment of the network of civic societies and their volunteers is extraordinary and I am confident they will grow and flourish.
