former Aberdeen office despite a letter urging against its destruction.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals to remove the Shell Building in Tullos after the company moved to the Silver Fin Building on Union Street were denounced in an open letter by several north-east climate groups, university professors, and architects.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Simon Roddy, Shell UK&#8217;s senior vice-president, told the Guardian: \u201cFor decades Tullos was a fantastic home for Shell in Aberdeen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter completing our move to the Silver Fin Building on Union Street, we are evaluating options for the future use of the Tullos site.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemoval of the buildings will help unlock the potential of the site to make a positive contribution&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A report submitted to the council concluded that the building&#8217;s age and condition mean it is unlikely a new operator would take it on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A council spokesperson told the Guardian that demolitions of this nature might not require planning consent.<\/p>\n<p>They said: \u201cThe council are in receipt of an environmental impact assessment screening report, which officers are currently working through and
