{"id":3742,"date":"2012-02-17T10:55:00","date_gmt":"2012-02-17T10:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=3742"},"modified":"2012-02-17T10:57:38","modified_gmt":"2012-02-17T10:57:38","slug":"corruption-probe-over-planning-permission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=3742","title":{"rendered":"Corruption probe over planning permission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that five men held as part of an investigation into alleged corruption involving a residential planning permission in Bury have been bailed pending further inquiries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Officers from GMP&#8217;s Serious Crime Division executed warrants at addresses in Altrincham, Kersal, Didsbury and Bacup, Lancashire, and arrested five men, aged between 45 and 69 on suspicion of corruption in a public office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This action followed allegations that two councillors at Bury Council accepted bribes in relation to a planning application.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the operation, officers recovered a number of computers and documents from Bury Town Hall and a business premises in Moston.
