The IHBC\u2019s 2023 Annual General Meeting took place online on 3 May, with a more experimental format \u2013 including dropping our familiar \u2018AGM papers\u2019 \u2013 and with votes resoundingly supporting all business, notably the formal election of new trustees: Jo Saady and Peter Wood.<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n
IHBC Chair David McDonald said: \u2018It was a great pleasure to chair the first AGM with our new online format, while it very welcome to see so many attending.\u00a0 We are also really privileged to have the appointment of two newly elected Board members: Jo Saady, Chair of our South East Branch, and \u2013 now formally elected to represent the Wales Branch after an earlier co-option \u2013 Peter Wood.\u00a0 From their energetic and pro-active Branch support to date, I know that both will add substantially to the quality of our Board\u2019s activities and oversight.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018We were also delighted to welcome Prof Oriel Prizeman of Cardiff university to kick-start the programme by offering some of her own expert research and thoughts around the same issues that our 2023 School will address \u2013 online and in Swansea from June 21-24 \u2013 on \u2018Sustainability and the Historic Environment\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018I’d like to also thank especially all who attended, lodged apologies and, of course, those there and absent who took the trouble to lodge proxies and questions in advance.\u00a0 Contributing to our AGM this way helps significantly in the smooth running of the meeting, and lets us all make the most of our time.\u2019<\/p>\n
IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our new AGM format \u2013 one better suited to its online experience \u2013 seems to have worked well, but we\u2019ll be asking members for feedback too.\u2019<\/p>\n
