\"\"The IHBC\u2019s Northern Ireland (NI) Branch has led its contribution to the \u2018Conservation in common\u2019 network with its \u2018Retrofit for the Future\u2019<\/em> conference, from 9.30-2pm, 3 May, at Belfast\u2019s Majestic (former Majestic Cinema) with tickets from \u00a325 (IHBC members).<\/h3>\n

The IHBC writes:<\/p>\n

The UK and Ireland has committed to net zero by 2050. Traditional, built heritage or just plain older buildings present amazing opportunities to reduce energy use and taking advantage of the existing embodied carbon. The challenges of retrofit are many, including protecting the external integrity & the historic fabric \/ traditional construction from inappropriate or un-informed intervention or \u2018improvements\u2019. Our 3 speakers will share their experiences as they have wrestled with this subject.<\/p>\n
