{"id":35956,"date":"2023-03-21T18:42:50","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T18:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=35956"},"modified":"2023-03-21T18:42:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T18:42:50","slug":"easier-ihbc-affiliate-applications-update-support-now-includes-new-video-screencast-all-ihbc-cpd-too","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=35956","title":{"rendered":"Easier IHBC Affiliate applications UPDATE: Support now includes new video screencast, all IHBC CPD too!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-35892\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/AFF_Guidance_outline.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" \/>The IHBC has launched a suite of new help and guidance to make it easier for our Supporter members to advance to the new Affiliate member category, including a dedicated web page; surgeries and more recently a video screencast by Anna Hart, IHBC\u2019s lead on the new support programme.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026#ihbcsurgery &#8211; our new drop-in Supporter Surgeries\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our new suite of resources makes it much simpler for all our Supporters to secure IHBC Affiliate membership.\u00a0 This base line of IHBC assessment is now more accessible, inclusive and, critically, more responsive to the full diversity of our members and their backgrounds.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The new formats are streamlined so applications for our most skilled and busy Supporters are more straightforward.\u00a0 At the same time more flexible approaches to guidance mean early career Supporters can access the best support to suits their personal needs, whatever their background interests and level of practice.\u00a0 Either way, there are now more varied pathways to confirm your abilities and or advance your career with the IHBC.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 Special thanks are due to our new Training Officer Anna Hart\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018The new support includes revised and simplified application forms and more summary guidance, as well as entirely new strands.\u00a0 These range from drop-in surgeries to a forthcoming video screencast.\u00a0 For convenience too, all now come together under a single Affiliate Application web page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/join\/affiliate\/index.html\">HERE<\/a>.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Special thanks are due to our new Training Officer Anna Hart who has led on delivering this broader support.\u00a0 We now have an integrated platform suited to anyone with a conservation interest \u2013 however skilled or unskilled \u2013 to look to a first step in demonstrating their support for the IHBC\u2019s holistic and forward-looking conservation objectives.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And it\u2019s all potentially your IHBC <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/cpd\/index.html\">CPD<\/a> too, so please don\u2019t wait to cross our base-line assessment threshold.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Anna Hart, IHBC\u2019s Education, Training and Application Support Officer said: \u2018The new application form aims to streamline the Affiliate assessment process by providing applicants with a single web information point, a simplified layout, and a step-by-step guide to secure their Affiliate membership.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 now the new video screencast\u2026.presents the information in a more engaging format\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018The pared-back form is accompanied by a separate revised guidance document, and now the new video screencast that presents the information in a more engaging format, complete with downloadable transcript.\u00a0 We are sure that this will make the resources more accessible to the broadest spectrum of our prospective audiences.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The resources sit on our new dedicated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/join\/affiliate\/index.html\">Affiliate Application<\/a> webpage, which provides further guidance and walks applicants through the application process in a clear and structured way\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The new webpage also includes links to the new Application Form and, critically, the linked guidance.\u00a0 It also has details of our new drop-in Supporter Surgeries \u2013 #ihbcsurgery<strong>\u2013<\/strong> with more updates on this programme to come on the IHBC\u2019s <em>NewsBlogs<\/em>, when available, <a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=35771#ihbcsurgery\">HERE<\/a>.\u00a0 These surgeries \u2013 initially monthly \u2013 are free to attend and no booking is necessary.
