IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our \u2018heads up\u2019 update on career opportunities for this round of our \u2018IHBC Jobs etc.<\/em><\/a>\u2019 service pins down the huge variety of roles and employers looking to us for both core conservation skills and heritage-related competences.<\/p>\n

\u2018The spread ranges from Historic England\u2019s Senior Listing Adviser to specialist and advisory Report Writer & Senior Built Heritage Consultant with Heritage 21.\u00a0 The list also includes calls for consultative roles from Croydon Design Review Panel \u2013 for Panel Member & Chair \u2013 as well as very practical, fabric and materials focussed responsibilities: Facilities Co-ordinators with The Landmark Trust; Lime Products Sales and Support Advisor with Ty-Mawr Lime, and Property Manager at The Bishop\u2019s Palace, Wells.<\/p>\n

\u2018Local councils, church bodies and charities also remain key community service providers of heritage advice and support, and of attendant posts and careers.<\/p>\n

For conservation service these include North York Moor’s Heritage & Conservation Officer, Yorkshire East Riding\u2019s Principal Conservation Officer and Conservation Officer; Croydon Council\u2019s Lead Conservation Officer; King\u2019s Lynn and West Norfolk\u2019s call for a\u00a0 Principal Conservation Officer, and Dorset Council\u2019s search for a Conservation Assistant.\u00a0 A parallel role is that of Church Buildings Officer advertised by the Diocese of Oxford.<\/p>\n

More operational roles that will likely interface closely with such posts \u2013 and in turn gain from a knowledge of their operation – include The Victorian Society\u2019s Conservation Adviser; Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust\u2019s Architectural Support Officer; York Georgian Society\u2019s \u2018Co-ordination Officer\u2019 and The Bath & North East Somerset Council\u2019s High Street Project Manager.<\/p>\n

\u2018Clearly all our \u2018<\/em>Jobs etc<\/em><\/a>\u2019<\/em> posts<\/em> reflect the exceptionally wide spectrum of relevant roles encompassed by the IHBC\u2019s accreditation model, the <\/em>IHBC Areas of Competence<\/a>, and the skills represented the<\/em>re.\u2019<\/p>\n
