IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Our \u2018heads up\u2019 on career opportunities for this round of our \u2018<\/u>IHBC Jobs etc.<\/em><\/a>\u2019 service<\/u> captures the diverse range of employer interests in core conservation skills from national heritage bodies, such as with Historic Royal Palaces (Head of Historic Buildings); Cadw (Project Manager) and Historic Environment Scotland (Designations).<\/p>\n

The range is no less impressive across less prominent employers, with Internships at Sefton Council, the City of London\u2019s call for 4 Planning Officer (Design) posts; The Landmark Trust\u2019s notice for a Regional Surveyor\/Architect and The Georgian Group\u2019s openings for Conservation Advisers (South of England and Wales).<\/p>\n

Local councils remain key community service providers of heritage advice and support, and of attendant posts and careers.\u00a0 Sefton again features (Heritage at Risk), as well as Nottingham and East Devon (Planning Conservation Officers).\u00a0 Similar core skills sets \u2013 rooted in the IHBC\u2019s Areas of Competences \u2013 would be appropriate for Lewisham\u2019s Design and Conservation Officer; Hackney\u2019s Principal Conservation and Design Officer; North Warwickshire\u2018s Heritage & Conservation Officer and the Built Heritage Officer post in Fife.\u00a0 At the same time a more project-led background is suggested in Mansfield\u2018s Project Officer post.<\/p>\n

Moving beyond these paradigms, two church posts reveal similar variations in focus.\u00a0 Exeter\u2019s Church Building Adviser and CBSC Secretary looks to the management and procedural side of conservation practice, while the Churches Conservation and Development Officer at the Diocese of St Asaph maps to a more pro-active position.<\/p>\n

Private sector roles are, quantitatively, relatively modest this round but no less significant, as Roger Mears seeks a Part II\/Part III Architect and Acanthus Clews a \u2018Qualified and Accredited\u2019 Architect or Surveyor.<\/p>\n
