\"\"The IHBC\u2019s 2022 Aberdeen School, in our 25th anniversary year<\/a>, hosted some 250 delegates across the Day School on 17 June \u2013 and even more at our Heritage MarketPlace<\/a> launch \u2013 as early feedback is resoundingly positive.<\/h3>\n

IHBC President Mike Brown said: \u2018Our Aberdeen 2022\u00a0 School marked a triumphant return to the face-to-face format.\u00a0 Judging by the reaction of those there, it was all thoroughly enjoyed.\u00a0 Well done!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m sure Swansea in June 2023 will be just as good, if not better\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2026 especially delighted with the opening welcome from Scotland\u2019s Culture Secretary Angus Robertson\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: \u2018We were of course especially delighted with the opening welcome from Scotland\u2019s Culture Secretary Angus Robertson.\u00a0 That was live-streamed into our blended Day School, and the rest of the day kept up the high standards of engagement coupled with technical challenges, as we moved across live, in-person, streamed and recorded contributions.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018It was a privilege to be part of the team which delivered such a successful hybrid IHBC Annual School in Aberdeen. My sincere thanks are due to all involved, in particular the local organising committee and IHBC National office\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018As well as these, I\u2019d also like to thank our main sponsors and supporters, including MFL Affinity and the Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen Councils, as well as Aberdeen City Heritage Trust and Bon Accord Heritage\u2019.<\/p>\n

IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018Early feedback is already extremely positive and generous.\u00a0 This is all especially welcome, not least as Aberdeen is our first blended event, but also because technical issues meant we could only do our first \u2018live\u2019 test 50 minutes before the virtual broadcast started!\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Our Chair for the day \u2013 IHBC Chair David McDonald – as ever, fronted the hidden mysteries of our back-office machinations with the calm grandeur we know so well, and still rely on so much.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018All in-person delegates seemed to have a great experience, but some virtual delegates had issues either with the wifi signals from the venue or the technology to hand.\u00a0 We will of course do all we can to help everyone address any limitations for #IHBCSwansea2023, including with some free events that build on the legacy of our Aberdeen School and help our service users evolve their systems further.\u2019<\/p>\n
