The IHBC\u2019s 2022 Aberdeen School<\/a> conference looks at \u2018Heritage on the Edge\u2019.\u00a0 It examines how practitioners and stakeholders can and should manage change to the most challenging of heritage.\u00a0 That heritage may be \u2018on the edge\u2019 for any of many reasons, including geography, technology, changing taste, new environmental awareness etc.<\/em><\/p>\n

The IHBC is especially excited that Griff Rhys Jones<\/a> \u2013 President of the Victorian Society<\/a> and of Civic Voice<\/a> among his many other roles \u2013 will explore the challenges of conserving Victorian and other heritage that is\u00a0 \u2018on the edge\u2019, in a recorded conversation with the IHBC\u2019s Chair David McDonald.\u2019<\/p>\n

Griff Rhys Jones said: \u2018I wrote in my introduction to the IHBC\u2019s 2020 Yearbook<\/em><\/a> that \u2018I believe more than anything that conservation is about the future\u2019, and that conservation is there \u2018to help manage change.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I am delighted to explore these matters further in conversation with the IHBC, and help shape discussions at the IHBC\u2019s 2022 Aberdeen School<\/a> in June.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Alongside specialist virtual stalls, this year the MarketPlace also features a virtual \u2018Happy Hour with the IHBC\u2019, open free to all IHBC members (subject to capacity), offering the chance for some more informal chat and conversation with our trustees, officers, members and networks.\u2019<\/p>\n
