16-18 June, supported by Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils and sponsored by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.m-f-l.co.uk\/specialist-divisions\/mfl-affinity\/ihbc\/\">MFL Affinity<\/a>, and including a film featuring Griff Rhys Jones \u2018in conversation\u2019 with the IHBC at the \u2018blended\u2019 Day School on 17 June.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Options<\/h2>\n<h3>The School offers a variety of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aberdeen2022.ihbc.org.uk\/options\/\">delegate options<\/a>\u00a0and experiences for IHBC-linked practice support and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/cpd\/index.html\">CPD<\/a>\u00a0across as many as 4 days.<\/h3>\n<h3>These range from the IHBC learning-led\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.ihbc.org.uk\/\">School Heritage MarketPlace<\/a>\u00a0(15\/06: all welcome) to the Day School (blended: 17\/06) and the Full School (15\/06-18\/06: includes tours and events for in-person delegates on 16-18\/06) .<\/h3>\n<h2>Content<\/h2>\n<p>The IHBC\u2019s 2022\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/aberdeen2022\/\">Aberdeen School<\/a>\u00a0conference looks at \u2018Heritage on the Edge\u2019.\u00a0 It examines how practitioners and stakeholders can and should manage change to the most challenging of heritage.\u00a0 That heritage may be \u2018on the edge\u2019 for any of many reasons, including geography, technology, changing taste, new environmental awareness\u00a0<em>etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The IHBC is especially excited that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cadw.gov.wales\/griff-rhys-joness-story\">Griff Rhys Jones<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 President of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.victoriansociety.org.uk\/\">Victorian Society<\/a>\u00a0and of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.civicvoice.org.uk\/\">Civic Voice<\/a>\u00a0among his many other roles \u2013 will explore the challenges of conserving Victorian and other heritage that is\u00a0 \u2018on the edge\u2019, in a recorded conversation with the IHBC\u2019s Chair David McDonald.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Griff Rhys Jones said: \u2018I wrote in my introduction to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/Yearbook\/2020Yearbook\/6\/index.html#zoom=z\">IHBC\u2019s 2020\u00a0<em>Yearbook<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0\u2018I believe more than anything that conservation is about the future\u2019,\u00a0and that conservation is there \u2018to help manage change.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026I am delighted to explore\u2026.and help shape discussions at the IHBC\u2019s\u00a0<a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/aberdeen2022\/\">2022 Aberdeen School<\/a>\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018I am delighted to explore these matters further in conversation with the IHBC, and help shape discussions at the IHBC\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/aberdeen2022\/\">2022 Aberdeen School<\/a>\u00a0in June.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Day School and tours are the heart of the Aberdeen 2022 School.\u00a0 These are detailed on our website, while Full School delegates will access both a drinks reception on the Thursday evening and the Annual Dinner\/Civic Reception on the Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said;
