{"id":32643,"date":"2022-02-25T18:30:43","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T18:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=32643"},"modified":"2022-02-25T18:30:43","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T18:30:43","slug":"ihbcs-2022-agm-update-business-concluded-with-board-appointed-and-resolutions-passed-as-next-phase-of-modernisation-commences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=32643","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s 2022 AGM update: Business concluded with Board appointed and resolutions passed, as next phase of modernisation commences"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>[slideshow_deploy id=&#8217;32645&#8242;]The IHBC held its first AGM under the new <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/business\/docs\/MASTER%20Articles%20of%20Association%20adopted%20at%20GM%20on%2026%20March%202021.pdf\">Articles<\/a> on 24 February, with all business completed and resolutions passed &#8211; most notably the appointment of the new Board &#8211; while trustees and officers now look ahead to the next steps in the institute\u2019s evolution.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Chair David McDonald said: \u2018It was a real pleasure to chair the IHBC&#8217;s AGM on Thursday, particularly as it was so well attended.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8216;\u2026 we had reached a real milestone\u2026&#8217;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018As it was the first AGM following the adoption of the Institute&#8217;s new <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/business\/docs\/MASTER%20Articles%20of%20Association%20adopted%20at%20GM%20on%2026%20March%202021.pdf\">Articles of Association<\/a>, I had the feeling that we had reached a real milestone. I am pleased that many of our former trustees are continuing to serve on the new Board and look forward to working with them and our new trustees during 2022.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8216;\u2026 delighted to thank those who have volunteered for these substantial public service roles\u2026. and look forward to working together\u2026&#8217;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>IHBC President Mike Brown said: \u2018I\u2019m delighted to thank those who have volunteered for these substantial public service roles as trustees and directors of the IHBC, and look forward to working together as we move forward with the IHBC\u2019s modernisation.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>IHBC Secretary Jo Evans Said: \u2018In line with the new Articles adopted in 2020, trustee posts were available for all nominees so there was no need for competitive elections.\u00a0 Consequently the adoption of the formal resolution to appoint the new Board marked both the high-point and the successful conclusion of business at our AGM.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018As this is our first Board appointed under the new Article, it is a hugely important step forward in the modernisation of our operations.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 new approach will mark an enhanced level of member engagement inspired by our new governance\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The draft minutes of the meeting will be circulated for review as soon as practicable, before their formal adoption at the next AGM.\u00a0 They will include feedback and further updates on the matters raised by all attendees in discussions after the AGM closed.\u00a0 This new approach will mark an enhanced level of member engagement inspired by our new governance\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018At the same time, the National Office \u2013 supported especially by our volunteer advisory body, the \u2018Governance Stage 2 Working Group\u2019 (GS2WG) &#8211;
