As RTPI President for 2022, he focuses on wellbeing, climate change and levelling up within the industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy interest and practice\u00a0is in the interconnected\u00a0issues\u00a0of\u00a0wellbeing, climate change and\u00a0tackling\u00a0inequalities,\u201d said Crawshaw. \u201cThe impact of these three factors on the ability to change lives is central to why I am a planner. It is my hope that leading such an influential institution\u00a0and talking about these issues\u00a0will have an untold impact on the progression of the planning industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crawshaw\u2019s long and impressive resume demonstrates his continued dedication to these issue, as the chair of the Tees Valley Nature Partnership, interim Steering Group Member for the North East of England Climate Coalition, associate consultant for APSE Energy, and lecturer at Northumbria and Newcastle Universities. As former Vice President of the RTPI, Crawshaw has shown dedication to the RTPI and its members, as well as demonstrating the value of interconnectedness for planning, to pull together the perspectives of the built environment disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve long shared the RTPI\u2019s belief that planning has the potential to improve lives and create healthier communities,\u201d said Crawshaw. \u201cIt\u2019s an honour to become the RTPI\u2019s President, and to be part of an organisation that\u2019s constantly striving to create a better environment for our citizens to live in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Victoria Hills, Chief Executive of RTPI, has worked closely with Crawshaw throughout his time serving as Vice President of the RTPI, and believes that his dedication to benefiting the way we live will help RTPI continue to make a positive impact within and through the planning industry. \u201cTim has long been a visionary in planning, applying his creativity, experience, and passion for design to the industry.
