The Victorian Society Newsletter<\/em> writes:<\/p>\n

The Government\u2019s Build Back Better initiative allocated funding to 22 local councils to develop \u2018local heritage asset lists\u2019, also known as local listing.<\/p>\n

Receiving local listing provides a level of protection to heritage buildings through the planning system as \u2018non-designated heritage assets\u2019.<\/p>\n

Local councils are asking residents for nominations for these lists through Local Listing Projects.<\/p>\n

If you are concerned about the future of Victorian or Edwardian buildings in your area which have heritage significance, but are not recognised by another designation such as national listing, now is the time to contact those local councils taking part in the local listing schemes below to secure its their conservation.<\/p>\n

NB: The Society sends out a free e-newsletter to any member of the public who signs up for it. This involves holding email addresses and names. The e-newsletter is sent out approximately monthly. Any recipient of the e-newsletter may opt-out of it at any time, and their details will then be deleted from the e-newsletter database, which is run by Campaign Monitor.<\/p>\n
