Ian Morrison said: \u2018I’m delighted to have been invited to serve as judge in this important initiative that has, for more than 15 years, supported and celebrated the early careers and deep learning of heritage and conservation practitioners.’<\/p>\n

‘The legacy of this programme reminds us all of the high standard of education, which – happily – seems to be continuing despite the pandemic, and I do look forward to seeing in detail the best of what training and research programmes are delivering today’<\/p>\n

Chris Wood, Chair of the IHBC\u2019s Education Committee, said: \u2018It is great news that we have managed to secure Ian as our Guest Judge for this year.\u00a0 His wide experience will ensure a thorough and informed review of the submissions \u2013 good luck to him, and to all those submitting\u2019.<\/p>\n

Bob Kindred, former Chair of the Gus Astley Trustees and adviser to the IHBC on awards and bursaries, said: \u2018I am delighted that Ian has agreed to be Institute\u2019s Guest Judge for the 2021 Awards.\u00a0 Ian was previously Chief Executive of the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF), so he really understands the sector\u2019s need to cultivate and celebrate strong, practical and focussed student coursework.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Having reviewed the submissions myself, it is evident that many of the candidates this round have demonstrated a clear sightedness and undertaken thorough research into under-regarded aspects of heritage policy and practice.\u00a0 I am sure Ian will find the adjudication on the submissions a rewarding experience.\u2019<\/p>\n
