\"\"IHBC Northern Ireland (NI) Branch members have been invited to attend \u2018Conservation in Common\u2019 a cross-disciplinary series of events for professionals working in the built heritage sector and the Department for Communities (DfC).<\/h3>\n

\u2026 first of the series of collaborative CPD events\u2026. new initiative\u2026.<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n

IHBC NI Branch lead and Branch Chair Des Cairns said: \u2018The was the first of the series of collaborative CPD events, a new initiative for the Historic Environment organisations in NI, with the leadership of HED.\u2019<\/p>\n

The first programme event was the RTPI NI conference, was held in the Throne Room at Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland\u2019s \u2018Historic Royal Palace\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was a very engaging and interesting event with a range of speakers from a Planning, Local government and Legal perspective.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The presentations included local case studies – one of the most interesting was the Primark Bank Buildings, a key Belfast city centre landmark, which suffered from\u00a0devastating fire in 2018, but has been a prime example of collaboration of private and public sector.\u2019<\/p>\n

The next one is led by IHBC NI Branch, and is on line.<\/p>\n

Conservation in Common partners write:<\/p>\n

Conservation in Common is run in partnership with The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA), the Institute of Archaeologists of\u00a0 Ireland (IAI), the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) N. Ireland, the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) Ireland, Building Control NI (BCNI) and the Department for Communities Historic Environment Division (HED).<\/p>\n

Online lunchtime talks<\/strong>
\n<\/u>Four online talks will take place from 1pm until 2.30pm via Microsoft Teams. The charge for attendance at each online event is \u00a318 for IHBC or partnered members. Non-members can attend each event for \u00a330.<\/p>\n
