IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018For this round of the \u2018Jobs etc<\/em><\/a>\u2019 <\/em>service <\/em>the clear headline is the sheer diversity of roles represented here: Design Review from Greater Cambridge, the Director post at Glasgow Building Preservation Trust, DAC Secretary (Carlisle) and Building Surveyor (Royal Household).\u00a0 Not one of these posts specifies \u2018conservation\u2019 in the title, but all are looking \u2013 and paying for – the IHBC\u2019s \u2018Jobs etc.<\/a>\u2019 service to find the best candidates!<\/p>\n

\u2018Inevitably these \u2018<\/em>Jobs etc<\/em><\/a>\u2019 <\/em>service posts <\/em>reflect the exceptionally wide spectrum of relevant roles, all also encompassed in the skills sets represented in the<\/em> IHBC Areas of Competence<\/a> and the Conservation Cycle<\/a>.\u00a0 Those practice areas are detailed in our MATE<\/a> application support sessions and guidance, and in the model we use to assess interdisciplinary competence in line with international conservation practice standards<\/a>.\u2019<\/p>\n

Also well represented this round are more familiar titles for posts, titles that capture well the broader skills sets that range right across our Competences.\u00a0 So \u2018Conservation Officers\u2019 are sought for the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service (GCSP); Ashford (Conservation\/Senior Conservation Officer); Swindon; South Derbyshire and at Warwick District Council, which seeks an Assistant Conservation Officer.<\/p>\n

As usual too, other linked roles show the wider or more specialist context of conservation skills, as Fareham seeks Conservation Planner, Pembrokeshire an \u2018Historic Building\u2019 Conservation Officer, Monmouthshire a Heritage Management Officer and Carmarthenshire an \u2018Enforcement and Monitoring Officer\u2019 for \u2018Planning and Built Heritage\u2019.<\/p>\n

The range of employers this round reflects past reviews of our \u2018<\/em>Jobs etc<\/em><\/a>\u2019<\/em> service, but with smaller numbers.\u00a0 Large employers are best represented by Historic England\u2019s search for an Inspector of Historic Buildings and Areas and a Development Advice Team Leader.<\/p>\n

Heritage charities are represented by Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust\u2019s call for an Outreach and Promotion Officer.\u00a0 Sitting between the two scales and types, the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is looking for a Regeneration Officer.<\/p>\n

Similarly, in this round, the private sector is represented by HCUK Group\u2019s search for an Associate Director \u2013 Heritage.<\/p>\n
