Historic England writes:<\/p>\n

Picturing England’s High Streets is a major commission that will see six artists undertaking residencies at high street locations across England.<\/p>\n

Four artists have been selected for photographic residencies and there will be an open call to find the remaining two launched in July 2021.<\/p>\n

The selected photographers will use a socially-engaged approach, working alongside local communities to create a contemporary portrait of England’s high streets between now and 2024. The images they produce will become part of the Historic England Archive.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A three-year project on six high streets<\/h2>\n

The three-year project will deliver six photographer-in-residence programmes at six high street locations across England, as well as artist mentoring and a digital nationwide mass participation project.<\/p>\n

Users of the high streets and the community are at the heart of Picturing England\u2019s High Streets, and each selected photographer has a link to the local high street area.<\/p>\n

To host each residency, Photoworks and Historic England have partnered with photography organisations across England, including:<\/p>\n
