{"id":29849,"date":"2021-04-30T17:10:52","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T16:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=29849"},"modified":"2021-04-30T17:10:52","modified_gmt":"2021-04-30T16:10:52","slug":"independent-hs2-panel-looking-for-new-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=29849","title":{"rendered":"Independent HS2 panel looking for new members"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/HS2_train_DBW-e1548779177831.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-16615\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/HS2_train_DBW-300x175.png\" alt=\"HS2 image\" width=\"300\" height=\"175\" \/><\/a>The panel that scrutinises design issues surrounding HS2 is looking for new members.<\/h3>\n<h6><em>image: for illustration purposes only\u00a0 HS2<\/em><\/h6>\n<h3><!--more--><\/h3>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 consistency and passion of its expert members\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026 make a positive and thoughtful contribution\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>UK\u2019s Real Estate Investment and Investment Forum writes:<\/p>\n<p>The HS2 Independent Design Panel has been working with HS2 Ltd for more than five years, holding to account the leadership, project teams and partners.<\/p>\n<p>Now it wants to expand the panel and is particularly interested in hearing from disabled people, women and people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Sadie Morgan, Chair of the HS2 Independent Design Panel, said: \u201cThe success of the Independent Design Panel is in small measure down to the consistency and passion of its expert members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we look to retain the knowledge that the panel has built since it was formed in 2015, I am pleased to announce this opportunity for new members to join.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking for people whose practical experience will add to the panel\u2019s expertise and make a positive and thoughtful contribution to the exciting \u2013 and sometimes challenging \u2013 topics and projects ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The areas of expertise that are of particular interest are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Architecture<br \/>\n\u2022 Sustainability<br \/>\n\u2022 Landscape architecture<br \/>\n\u2022 Masterplanning and urban design<br \/>\n\u2022 Civil and structural engineering<br \/>\n\u2022 Railway operations<br \/>\n\u2022 Commercial development<br \/>\n\u2022 Inclusive design<\/p>\n<p>Kay Hughes, Design Director at HS2 Ltd, said: \u201cMeeting the scale of the design challenge across HS2 is a world class endeavour, which requires the combined expertise and experience of multiple teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHS2 wants to achieve the highest standards in design, and it values the contribution of the design panel members in providing advice and supporting the programme to achieve those high standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those who wish to apply should email HS2@frame-projects.co.uk for a recruitment pack and application form.
