\u2026 professionally recognised by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC)\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n

Course designer and lead Dr Ataa Alsalloum, Lecturer in Architecture and Urban Heritage, said: \u2018This MA in Sustainable Heritage Management provides the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary skills and knowledge needed to master aspects of sustainable heritage management theory and practice, and develop essential skills and knowledge for current careers in heritage sectors.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018As such, it provides a good grounding for those intending to proceed to academic doctoral research or to work in practice\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018The structure of the MA and its learning, teaching and assessment activities will challenge students to think about the meanings of heritage and frame sustainable heritage management in its architectural, urban, social, political, scientific and economic contexts\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018We are also offering a free and open one hour zoom promotional meeting on 13 April \u2013 including a 10 min presentation and a taster with students to speaking with prospective students about their experience in Liverpool.\u00a0 All are welcome!\u2019<\/p>\n

The programme specification states:<\/p>\n

The course is professionally recognised by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) \u2013 the UK’s leading body for building conservation practitioners and historic environment experts \u2013 and covers its Areas of Competence. The programme also follows the education guidelines of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), UNESCO and Council of Europe requirements.<\/p>\n

Students can also apply for full IHBC membership after 2 years of professional experience, as opposed to 5 years.<\/p>\n

The IHBC offers 1 year free \u2018taster\u2019 memberships to students on recognised courses (who are not already IHBC members), to help this process.<\/p>\n
