Developers have revealed plans to build hundreds of new homes on green belt land in Failand.<\/p>\n

Harrow Estates has launched a major consultation on its vision to build up to 500 homes over 40 hectares of land – which would see the size of the village double.<\/p>\n

The development would be spread over three sites bordering the \u2018Failand Triangle\u2019 all of which are currently in the green belt.<\/p>\n

The vision details plans for a new primary school, affordable housing and highways improvements and links.<\/p>\n

The proposal also includes new sporting and community facilities…<\/p>\n

A \u2018vision document\u2019 has now been submitted to North Somerset Council.<\/p>\n

As yet, no planning application has been made.<\/p>\n

A consultation on the vision has now been launched by Harrow Estates, which is part of the Redrow Group…<\/p>\n

The proposal is being put forward at the same time as North Somerset Council is starting to draw up its Local Plan for the area up to 2038.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Harrow Estates said: \u2018We are hosting an initial consultation with the community and stakeholders alongside the promotion of the sites through the emerging North Somerset Local Plan 2038…\u2019<\/p>\n

The news has already sparked concern among parish leaders who are planning to organising a public meeting on zoom about the scheme\u2026<\/p>\n

In 2009 a planning application was submitted for up to 500 houses to be built on land east of Failand\u2026<\/p>\n

North Somerset Council refused the plans and the developers went to appeal…<\/p>\n
