\"\"<\/a>As a lead into the IHBC\u2019s historic and first virtual AGM, on 3 December 2020, members had the chance to enjoy an exceptional online welcome and introduction from Giff Rhys Jones<\/a>, as well as updates from our perennial CPD focus, the Annual Schools, all expertly led by IHBC Chair David McDonald.<\/h3>\n

David McDonald said: \u2018I am sure we were all inspired by Griff\u2019s insightful and personal review of heritage aspirations and complexities in the 21st Century.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Griff led IHBC members from today\u2019s pandemic-challenged world of heritage, place and environmental care right back to core values that underpin what conservation is all about, while also reminding us how difficult it can be.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018In particular, Griff offered a broad statement of practical issues that the IHBC must take on board as we move forward, with new Articles, aspirations and ambitions, from our role as secretariat to the new All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on \u2018Conservation Places and People\u2019 (CPP APPG<\/a>) to the challenges of embedding our new Articles of Association, and the modernisation of our governance\u2019.<\/p>\n

IHBC Director Sean O’Reilly said: ‘We were delighted also to have trustee Sanne Roberts introduce the 2021 IHBC Annual School in Brighton, as IHBC trustee and Chair of the host South East Branch, with Douglas Campbell outlining the Aberdeen School, planned for 2022.’<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>‘Both Schools will include our new School Heritage MarketPlace, which will offer CPD-led opportunities for heritage services, suppliers, trainers and advocates to engage with School delegates and networks through virtual ‘Stalls’.<\/p>\n
