The IHBC has been approached by Haynes Publishing, which is working on a major new book –\u00a0The Period House Manual<\/em><\/span> \u2013 due for publication next year, with an invitation to IHBC members to participate with\u00a0photos of their skills & services.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

All published photos will be credited in the book (and copyright respected). Haynes will also provide participating IHBC members with free listings & links from the book\u2019s website, which should generate useful new business, as well as being great publicity.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Author, chartered surveyor Ian Rock, says: \u2018The aim of the Haynes Period House Manual is to communicate best practice in building conservation to the people who really matter \u2013 the owners of historic properties. The best way to help illustrate this is with Step-By-Step photo features that clearly show traditional building repair skills in action\u2019.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

IHBC members are invited to submit photos for inclusion to the author by post or email by\u00a0October 2011\u00a0at the latest. All key traditional building skills will be covered in the book, and some examples are listed below. Photos need to be to a reasonable resolution (minimum 400 KB) showing the key stages of a particular job in detail.<\/p>\n

Ian Rock concludes: \u2018No doubt many members will already have suitable photos of their work displayed on websites and in publicity material. But it certainly wouldn\u2019t do any harm to be able to say to future customers \u201cOur work is featured in the Haynes Period House Manual\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n
