Earlier this year, we began a partnership with Building People, helping join the dots across diversity, skills and social value, in an attempt to make construction and the built environment less fragmented.<\/p>\n

Building People brings together diverse and innovative audiences to widen the talent pool and address industry skills challenges. They have developed a free-to-use prototype platform, which aggregates and integrates with industry-wide activity, enabling people to find employers, opportunities and resources, and employers to engage with a more diverse range of talent. A key part of the platform is the partnership with Designing Buildings Wiki which has created a microsite focused on diversity and inclusion, skills and careers, and social value.\u00a0https:\/\/www.designingbuildings.co.uk\/wiki\/People_wiki<\/a><\/p>\n

This microsite forms the \u2018content\u2019 element of the platform that goes alongside a directory of organisations that provide built environment work, learning and\/or careers opportunities, an e-mentoring service, a directory of events and learning activities, and a listing of work vacancies.<\/p>\n

Building People are launching their prototype site this week at UK Construction Week. If you would like to join the launch, details are here<\/a><\/p>\n

They are also launching a crowdfunding campaign to ensure the not-for-profit platform remains a free and lean \u2018aggregating and connecting’ service to the user, supported by industry on an ongoing basis.<\/p>\n
