These will replace our?2017-21 Equality Outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Completing this consultation\u00a0survey will take you\u00a0at least 25 minutes. Thank you for taking this time to share your views with us.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We\u00a0have developed our?activity?with equality and diversity in mind.?This has influenced??<a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicenvironment.scot\/about-us\/who-we-are\/heritage-for-all\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Heritage for All<\/a>, our current Corporate Plan,?with its focus on \u2018making a real difference to?people\u2019s?lives\u2019.?Our progress so far is outlined in\u00a0our?<a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicenvironment.scot\/archives-and-research\/publications\/publication\/?publicationid=2985f389-a082-4342-8a03-aa3f010fbf80\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mid-Term Equality Outcomes Report 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We are setting our new Equality Outcomes during a global pandemic.?The effect of Covid-19 has\u00a0highlighted?the social and?personal inequalities?across?wider?society as well as for??<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ukpga\/2010\/15\/part\/2\/chapter\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">groups with protected characteristics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0year, the events surrounding Black Lives Matter have?achieved ?a?breakthrough?response,?with?many public and private sector organisations?committing to?addressing racism and?re-evaluating their employment?practice.?You can read\u00a0our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicenvironment.scot\/about-us\/news\/historic-environment-scotland-response-to-black-lives-matter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">initial response<\/a>\u00a0on our website.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"why_we_are_consulting\">\n<h2>Why We Are Consulting<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ukpga\/2010\/15\/section\/149\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Equality Act 2010<\/a>?requires all public bodies, including\u00a0Historic Environment Scotland (HES)\u00a0to publish\u00a0Equality\u00a0Outcomes at least every four years.\u00a0These?demonstrate where we want to be?in relation to equality and diversity?as both a?provider of direct services to the?public?and?an employer.<\/p>\n<p>We want to?hear from?people?with a variety of?life and personal experiences.
