Griff Rhys Jones, School updates etc. \u2013 voting from 6pm (IHBC members only; BOOKING ESSENTIAL)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13811\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IHBC-General-People-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"general people image\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/>The IHBC has issued notices and exclusive invitations to all categories of IHBC members for the 2020 AGM \u2013 on 3 December, 2020 \u2013 including a free CPD programme from 5.30pm with filmed welcomes and updates from Griff Rhys Jones and on IHBC Schools (BOOKING ESSENTIAL).<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8230;a momentous AGM for the IHBC&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8230;Modernise our governance&#8230;adoption of a new corporate plan, &#8216;CP25&#8217;&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>IHBC Chair David McDonald, who will host the pre-AGM programme, and IHBC President Mike Brown, who will chair the AGM, write:<\/p>\n<p>This is a momentous AGM for the IHBC, to be marked with a programme that responds to these extraordinary times.\u00a0 As well as our usual AGM business, we aim to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modernise our governance through a Special Resolution to adopt new <a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/resources\/Articles%20of%20Association%20__INS75_2_25739334_v7%20for%20IHBC%202020%20AGM%20Special%20Resolution.pdf\">Articles of Association<\/a>, also attached and linked from the <em>AGM Papers<\/em>, and<\/li>\n<li>Formalise our plans for the next five years with the adoption of a new corporate plan, \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/resources\/IHBC%20Corporate%20Plan%202020-25%20%28%27CP25%27%29%20-%20Approved%20by%20IHBC%20trustees%20for%20AGM%202020.pdf\">CP25<\/a>\u2019, also linked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8230;a stimulating personal take from Griff Rhys Jones&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>As an online, or &#8216;virtual&#8217;, AGM we can offer a unique level of access to the crucial business, and we want to take full advantage of that.\u00a0 So we will lead into the AGM from 5.30pm with \u2013\u00a0 as currently planned \u2013 live hosting of recordings that include a stimulating personal take from Griff Rhys Jones on current heritage issues for the sector.\u00a0 Complementing this will be outlines of our future plans for the next Annual Schools, notably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/brighton2021\/\">Brighton 2021<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/aberdeen2022\/\">Aberdeen 2022<\/a>.\u00a0 These introductions will inform and frame our own plans for the future &#8211; including our new role as Secretariat to the equally new <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.parliament.uk\/pa\/cm\/cmallparty\/200924\/conservation-places-and-people.htm\">Conservation, Places &amp; People All-Party Parliamentary Group <\/a>(APPG)\u2026<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8230;Voting by proxy is available&#8230;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Remember too that, though all IHBC members of all categories are encouraged along \u2013 with IHBC CPD certificates on offer too, to reflect the status of the business \u2013 only Full and Retired members may vote during the AGM.\u00a0 Voting by proxy is available to qualifying members who cannot attend, or who want to vote in advance.\u00a0 &#8216;Proxy&#8217;
