Focus on firms’ abilities follow series of recommendations made following 2017 Grenfell fire\u2026<\/p>\n

Trade bodies will be looking to crack down on the competency of their members in the coming months, with the boss of one organisation saying he is prepared to give companies the boot if they were not up to the appropriate standard.<\/p>\n

The news comes as the Competence Steering Group (CSG), which was set up following the 2017 Grenfell tragedy to improve standards in the built environment, prepares to publish its final report,\u00a0Setting the Bar<\/a>, later today.<\/p>\n
