\"\"The IHBC\u2019s Council \u2013 its Board \u2013 has agreed to hold the Institute\u2019s 2020 AGM on 3 December as an online, \u2018virtual\u2019 event, with voting planned on the new Corporate Plan (\u2018CP25<\/a>\u2019) and on modernising governance though the proposed new \u2018Articles<\/a>\u2019, all with more details to come, including arrangements for the postponed Council+ programme.<\/h3>\n

The IHBC writes in \u2018CP25<\/a>\u2019:<\/p>\n

\u2026 CP25 continues CP20\u2019s focus on the three primary activities that both frame our membership support and deliver on our charitable objects: helping people, helping conservation, and helping conservation specialists\u2026<\/p>\n

Our vision recognises that the future of historic fabric and places is best served by recognised and skilled conservation specialists, the conservation professional[s]\u2026 achieve their best outcomes when supported by an informed, independent and ethical professional body dedicated to supporting and advocating skills and careers as well as their practice principles, standards and objectives\u2026<\/p>\n

The IHBC recognises the urgent global and local threats of climate change, and the need to respond in a timely fashion. Consequently the institute promotes the care of the built and historic environment as an inherently sustainable strategy, including for carbon management. The recent IHBC \u2018Position Statement\u2019 on \u2018Sustainability and Conservation of the Historic Built Environment<\/em>\u2019 makes that position explicit\u2026.<\/p>\n

\u2026 Further data to help inform the understanding and delivery of CP25 will be posted in the IHBC\u2019s NewsBlogs as it becomes available including:<\/p>\n

  1. Following the adoption of CP25 by the IHBC\u2019s membership, a delivery plan will align Board, National Office, Committee, Branch and voluntary operations against its objects and actions. Again this follows practice already successfully tested in CP20 while building further on our \u2018IHBC+\u2019 programme\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
