From England\u2019s planning White Paper to Retrofit, IHBC trustees shape sector policy, practice, and more"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-27271\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/IHBC-logo-no-words-purple-MASTER-300x113.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"113\" \/>The IHBC has issued its latest \u2018CPD Circular\u2019, with post-lockdown event planning content that includes the IHBC\u2019s own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) support, the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/learning\/cpd_providers\/index.html\">IHBC Recognised CPD Providers<\/a>\u2019 CPD service, with content from across the sector that, naturally, includes\u00a0plenty of expertise from IHBC trustees and volunteers, including Trustee and\u00a0Communications Committee Secretary Dave Chetwyn\u2019s contributions to a Consultation Institute webinar on England\u2019s Planning White Paper, and IHBC Trustee and Wales Branch representative John Edwards with courses on \u2018Energy efficiency and Retrofitting\u2019.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The IHBC\u2019s \u2018<em>CPD Circular<\/em>\u2019 reports:<\/p>\n<p>As part of the IHBC\u2019s commitment to providing our members and their networks with up to date information on continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities and information, this monthly service includes upcoming Branch and National Events,\u00a0CPD\u00a0opportunities, Awards, Placements, Bursaries &amp; Scholarships, Calls for Papers and more from across the UK and beyond.<\/p>\n<h2><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026.expertise from IHBC trustees and volunteers, including\u2026 Dave Chetwyn\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2019s contributions to a Consultation Institute webinar on England\u2019s Planning White Paper and, &#8230;.<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<h2><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8230;.John Edwards <\/span><span style=\"color: #800080;\">with courses on \u2018Energy efficiency and Retrofitting\u2019.<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>Progressing into autumn we present a range of events, some of which are sector focussed, others part of mainstream and other sectors.\u00a0 As many of these events are delivered virtually, and so are widely accessible, members are encouraged to look broadly at the offerings in order to enhance and broaden their personal development in areas and competencies they might have otherwise found difficult to achieve.<\/p>\n<h2><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026IHBC Policy Committee will be having a dedicated meeting to discuss the White Paper\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>If you are concerned or curious about the recently issued Planning White Paper, note the upcoming TCI webinar on 16 Sept where IHBC Trustee and current Communications Committee Secretary Dave Chetwyn will be a panellist discussing the issues and challenges facing the planning sector.\u00a0\u00a0Additionally, the IHBC Policy Committee will be having a dedicated meeting to discuss the White Paper amongst committee members and Trustees.<\/p>\n<p>Energy efficiency and Retrofitting have seen a resurgence in attention as the mainstream\u2019s lack in skills of how to retrofit sympathetically is becoming painfully evident.\u00a0\u00a0Recently made available online, the only short course with a Level 3 Award Qualification run by IHBC Trustee and Wales Branch rep John Edwards seeks to rectify this imbalance.\u00a0\u00a0Details and course availability follow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NB: A post-publication update is that the IHBC\u2019s Council+ that had been scheduled for 3 December in London has been postponed due to the pandemic, while the IHBC\u2019s re-scheduled 2020 AGM will take place as a \u2018Virtual AGM\u2019 on 3 December, precise details to come.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IHBC National &amp;
