{"id":27650,"date":"2020-09-11T17:35:19","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T16:35:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=27650"},"modified":"2020-09-11T17:35:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-11T16:35:19","slug":"wales-cultural-recovery-fund-launches14-09","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=27650","title":{"rendered":"Wales: Cultural Recovery Fund launches14\/09"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-16358\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/welsh_dragon.jpg\" alt=\"Wales Gov welsh dragon\" width=\"265\" height=\"190\" \/>On 1 September, the Welsh Government announced the Cultural Recovery Fund \u2014 an \u00a318.5 million fund to support the Welsh cultural sector\u2019s recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, to launch on 14 September and close on 30 September 2020.<\/h3>\n<h6><em>image: Welsh Government website<\/em><\/h6>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Welsh Government writes:<\/p>\n<p>The new fund will see music venues; recording and rehearsal studios; Heritage organisations and historic attractions; accredited museums and archive services; libraries; events and their technical support suppliers; independent cinemas and the publishing sector being able to bid for a share of \u00a318.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>The latest funding is part of the Welsh Government\u2019s \u00a353 million package to support the culture and arts sectors which are coping with a dramatic loss of revenue as a result of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>A separate element of the Cultural Recovery Fund, worth \u00a327.5 million, is being delivered through the Arts Council of Wales to support theatres and galleries.
