{"id":27602,"date":"2020-09-08T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T15:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=27602"},"modified":"2020-09-07T18:30:48","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T17:30:48","slug":"ihbc-s-creative-conservation-fund-new-web-page-and-guidance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=27602","title":{"rendered":"IHBC \u2018s CREATIVE Conservation Fund: New web page and guidance"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-27603\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CCF_logo_v1_120820-300x197.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"197\" \/>The IHBC has launched an updated webpage on our new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/resources_head\/creative_conservation_fund\/index.html\">CREATIVE Conservation Fund<\/a> \u2013 a dedicated fund exclusively delivering on the IHBC\u2019s charitable activities such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/gasa\/\">IHBC\u2019s Gus Astley Student Awards<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\/brighton2021\/\">2021 Brighton School<\/a> bursaries &#8211; with new branding, background and guidance to help make this the sector\u2019s \u2018go to\u2019 fund for anyone wanting to support conservation.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Chair David McDonald said: \u2018Our new Creative Conservation Fund provides welcome support to the IHBC&#8217;s aim of helping those who conserve and manage the historic environment.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It will help us to manage our existing awards efficiently, and open the way to increasing our charitable activities.\u00a0 As the fund grows, we will be able to increase our support to a wide range of people, from those in education and apprenticeships to retired members who continue to give their services to the community.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026the sector\u2019s \u2018go to\u2019 fund for anyone wanting to support conservation.<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018We\u2019ve been working om this programme for nearly two years, guided by our financial advisers while also developing in-house processes.\u00a0 Following a long trial of a Beta site we took advantage of the pandemic\u2019s impact on office time to make a new page and a suitable brand.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The fund\u2019s management and structure mean that the IHBC focus its long-standing charitable operations by investing directly in the fund, but not\u00a0 only that!\u00a0 We are now in a position to take in and manage public donations too \u2013 notably, initially, from members wanting to extend their support for their sector through donating expenses that might not otherwise be claimed, for example.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2026It will help us to manage our existing awards efficiently, and open the way to increasing our charitable activities.<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018The \u2018CREATIVE\u2019 acronym also allows us to align donations with key areas that donors might want to direct their funds, including as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>C<\/strong>elebration<\/li>\n<li><strong>R<\/strong>esearch<\/li>\n<li><strong>E<\/strong>ducation<\/li>\n<li><strong>A<\/strong>pprenticeship<\/li>\n<li><strong>T<\/strong>raining<\/li>\n<li><strong>I<\/strong>nnovation<\/li>\n<li><strong>V<\/strong>isioning<\/li>\n<li><strong>E<\/strong>xperimentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>= CREATIVE<\/strong> <strong>Conservation<\/strong>, for distribution across any of the above.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2018The fund\u2019s management and structure mean that the IHBC focus its long-standing charitable operations by investing directly in the fund\u2026.<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The IHBC writes:<\/p>\n<p>We gather and distribute charitable donations through our CREATIVE CONSERVATION FUND (CCF). This is the most effective way we can support charitable contributions to conservation.<\/p>\n<p>The IHBC\u2019s CCF helps us generate, manage and distribute funds EXCLUSIVELY to deserving causes in conservation.<\/p>\n<p>Donating to the IHBC\u2019s CCF means that you can target your goodwill to support the areas of conservation that you want to help, as discussed below.<\/p>\n<p>Distribution of the fund is overseen by IHBC trustees. All donations are held and managed by the IHBC as \u2018restricted\u2019 funds, with regular oversight by our accountants, in line with current accounting standards and practices.<\/p>\n<p>Under special circumstances, management and distribution of specific donations may be tailored to suit the needs of the donor, donating body or partner.
