{"id":26765,"date":"2020-06-24T16:28:25","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T15:28:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=26765"},"modified":"2020-07-03T18:28:55","modified_gmt":"2020-07-03T17:28:55","slug":"ihbcs-first-virtual-school-initial-feedback-update-and-future-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=26765","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s first \u2018Virtual School\u2019, #IHBCVirtualSchool2020: Initial feedback, update and future plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-26514\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/IHBC_VS2020_square_new.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"267\" \/>The IHBC has successfully concluded its first Virtual School on 19 June, \u2018OLD TOWNS | NEW FUTURES\u2019 <em>Reflections and Speculations from a Global Pandemic<\/em>, sponsored <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hcukgroup.co.uk\/\">HCUK Group: Heritage Collective<\/a>, with interim delegate feedback and plans now available.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8216;99% would attend another IHBC virtual event &#8211; average performance rating of 4 out of 5!&#8217;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018We\u2019re really delighted with the initial feedback from across the School\u2019s two sessions, with 99% of respondents saying they\u2019d attend another IHBC virtual event, and an average performance rating of 4 out of 5!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This is quite a triumph given that this School was our first stab at devising such an alternative School and linked CPD programme. \u00a0Also, with the technology so new to us, and the global reach so experimental, our challenges were substantial, so such success is especially satisfying.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u00a0&#8216;recordings available to all who booked&#8217;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019ve also just now initiated our wider, post-School programme of feedback and support to delegates, starting with a survey already issued to all who booked.\u00a0 Remember too of course, that even if you could not attend on the day,\u00a0 there\u2019s lots of opportunities in the survey for those involved to offer useful feedback.\u00a0 In particular we\u2019re keen to hear about your take on our CPD support \u2013 including on the technical issues of conservation professionals engaging with, and even hosting, webinars.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018For all who booked places too, we\u2019ll have the recordings issued on Monday 29 June, so if you missed any content due to poor connections or work commitments, you can savour the full event \u2013 though without the live participation \u2013 at your convenience.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We\u2019re also in touch with the Virtual School\u2019s speakers, offering them the opportunity to respond further to questions and issues raised during the event but, due to time, not detailed in the discussions.\u00a0 We\u2019ll get back in touch with delegates on those issues as soon as we can.\u2019<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8216;advocacy will focus on the forthcoming APPG on Conservation People and Places&#8217;<\/span><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>\u2018As all know, we\u2019ll be continuing our interrogation of the School topic in the coming months and years.
