{"id":26579,"date":"2020-06-10T16:09:12","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T15:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsblogsnew.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=26579"},"modified":"2020-06-10T15:28:21","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T14:28:21","slug":"ihbcs-heritage-from-the-doostep-1-3m-to-help-revitalise-dunstable-as-council-secures-transparency-using-ihbcs-jobs-etc-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=26579","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s \u2018Heritage from the doostep\u2019: \u00a31.3M to help revitalise Dunstable, as council secures transparency using\u00a0IHBC\u2019s \u2018Jobs etc.\u2019\u00a0service!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26580\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DunstableToday_100620.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"255\" \/>Dunstable has one of 69 high streets in England set to be revitalised by a share of a \u00a395m cash injection, reports\u00a0<em>Dunstable Today<\/em>, while the council has advertised with on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/jobsetc\/\">IHBC\u2019s \u2018<em>Jobs etc<\/em>.\u2019<\/a>service\u00a0to ensure transparency for funders.<\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>Dunstable Today<\/em>\u00a0writes:<\/p>\n<p>The town is part of\u00a0&#8216;the biggest single investment by government in the UK\u2019s built heritage&#8217;, as money from Westminster aims to transform disused historic buildings into shops, houses and community centres.<\/p>\n<p>Funding will also help traditional businesses adapt to better compete with online outlets&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>The East of England will receive \u00a37m, split between Dunstable, Bedford, Great Yarmouth, King\u2019s Lynn, Lowestoft, North Walsham, and Swaffham.<\/p>\n<p>Town clerk and chief executive of Dunstable Town Council, David Ashlee, said:\u00a0&#8216;The council and all our partners will be delighted to learn of the fantastic news that Dunstable Town Council has been successful in securing an \u2018in principle\u2019 offer from Historic England for a grant of \u00a31.3m from the High Street Heritage Action Zone fund.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The grant will help the council to preserve and enhance the nationally important grade 2 listed Priory House in the centre of Dunstable, and to improve Dunstable\u2019s conservation area, in particular the historically important Middle Row.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>For the 69 high streets, \u00a392m will be provided by the government and overseen by Historic England to create the High Street Heritage Action Zones, while \u00a33m will be provided by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support cultural programmes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/jobsetc\/?p=6556\">IHBC Jobs etc<\/a>\u00a0writes:<\/p>\n<p>Dunstable Town Council has secured a grant through the Government \/ Historic England High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) initiative.
