With jobs in the public sector, we can see the classic interdisciplinary Conservation Officer-style roles looming large as ever.\u00a0 These demand skills that range right across the IHBC Areas of Competence<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Such posts are well represented by the more traditional title of \u2018Conservation Officer\u2019 role, reflected in this round with posts in Cheshire West and Chester (Built Environment Officer, Conservation & Design, x 2 vacancies) and Guildford (Policy Officer, Conservation) as well as the focus on design skills sought at Colchester, with its Conservation & Design Officer post.<\/p>\n

As the IHBC Areas of Competence<\/em><\/a> model also maps to a project management framework, IHBC accreditation offers employers unique comfort when assessing candidates\u2019 competence in such roles. \u00a0So in the context of urban renewal we see the project-linked skills sets tied to IHBC accreditation highlighted in Heritage Action Zone roles at Knowsley (Project Officer) and Dunstable (Programme Manager).<\/p>\n
